E6750 basic OC failing

Thread Starter
I've recently decided to give another crack at OCing after previous attempts were failures. Once again it is giving me the same result: After I dial up my clock to 400 and my vCore to 1.375, it simply will not start. The system turns on, the fans power up, and before POST it turns off again, turns on once more, restarts, and then is back at the previous, safe settings. I can't for the life of me figure out what's going on. Any suggestions to try out?

Why don't you try a much more mild o/c? Go to 343 see if it is stable, and go from there instead of trying to jump straight to 400? Proper overclocking takes time Take it slow, you will get there...

Oh and Welcome to OCN since this is your first post

I had OC`d my E6750 @ 4GHz with 1.45V (LOAD) 24/7 stable and hit 533MHz FSB with 7x multi = 3.7GHz on stock Vcore=1.275V ROCK SOLID..

It depends on stepping (my is G0) and VID of the chip (my VID=1.275V)..

Those chips are great OCers but also need good mobo (my was P45 P5Q Pro) and fast RAM..

CHERS..

Okay, I've ramped down my enthusiasm at seeing other peoples OCes and went for a more modest 366 and have been in windows running some tests. So far I know my voltage is a bit high but it doesn't seem to be surpassing 69 C which is acceptable while I test it outOkay, I've ramped down my enthusiasm at seeing other peoples OCes and went for a more modest 366 and have been in windows running some tests. So far I know my voltage is a bit high but it doesn't seem to be surpassing 69 C which is acceptable while I test it out. I'll definitely be trying to ratchet it up a little more while also bringing down the voltage. Anything I'm overlooking currently?

Looking good so far an hour in, still hasn't passed 70 C and it's stable as can be. I'll be running another test after I find a good lower voltage and maybe go up a bit more in speed.
