What about buying two of these bad boys for RAID 0

SAMSUNG SPINPOINT F4 HD322GJ HARD DRIVE - 320 GB - 7200 RPM - 16 MB - SATA-300

Unless you have the drives already, or are looking for more space as a secondary array for large games etc, a single small SSD will be a much better use of your cash than a new RAID0 array for your OS.

With my 2 500GB 7200.12 Raid0 (no shortstroke) I was pulling 220MB/s avg read.
With one 74GB Raptor I was getting around 70-90MB/s if I remember.

I'm sure the 80GBs Raid0 aren't as fast as the .12's or a pair of F3/F4 drives but should get you more than 70-90MB/s. However, I'm in the same boat as some of the other guys. I think one F3/F4 or one 7200.12 would be the best option.

EDIT: Just noticed your F4 post. Even one of those should give you better performance than the first two options.
