Help me OC my Athlon II X4 640..please

So I have a 640 and i cant get it stable past like 3.2 Ghz. I am new to oc'ing so could anyone give me some tips on how to get it stable at like 3.5 or 3.6? I have a stock HSF but will be upgrading soon. At 3.2 Ghz with prime 95 core temps are at 53C and MB temp at 59C.

Lower the multi on the ram and northbridge and hypertransport.

Then increase the ref clock and cpu voltage as needed until you reach your max temp. I'm not sure what it is on this chip, but make sure you look it up.
I guarantee you will reach your max temp on the stock heatsink before you reach your chip's max potential OC.

Once you are happy with the speed/temps, you can play around with increasing the other multis/voltages until everything is at least back to stock.

You can also try lowering the cpu multi while pushing the ref clock even higher, if you want faster ram/nb.

The settings for my 640 at the moment are:

250MHz FSB
CPU Multi: x14 3.5GHz (x12 for 3GHz)
HT Link: x8 or 1.6GHz (2000MHz)
CPU-NB: x9 or 1.8GHz (2250MHz)(My 640 seems to struggle with this setting, x10 would be best 2500MHz)
Memory on a 5.33 divider for 1333MHz

Currently stable at stock voltages apart from a bit of CPU vcore 1.44v.

I believe that the max temp is 71C but I dont want to push it near that high. i'm goingto try to keep it at 55C or less until i get an aftermarket HSF. Is it really ok to push it that high?

No, its not okay. 55*C or less is best. My chip will fail stress tests at 56*C. At 55*C or less, its fine.

You honestly aren't going to get much more than 3.2-3.3GHz with the stock cooler. Wait till you get the aftermarket cooler to push it. With a 640, you should get somewhere around 3.8-4.0GHz out of it though .

Yeah more than 55c is getting a little hot. Says 71c is max.

New cooler for sure

Lower temps will give you better stability, but there is no danger to the chip unless you go over the limit.
