Opinion/Advise on my home made Pot!!

Thread Starter

I'm looking for feedback/advise on my Pot that Ive built. The base is 3/8" thick and the center piece is out of my Xeons stock heat sink! All of the holes in the center piece are threaded to increase surface area. I haven't brazed it together yet as id like some more opinions on the design of my pot. Any info/advise will be greatly appreciated.

P.S. This is my first venture into Extreme cooling.

Love the design, will drop like a rock...

What you benching?

Won't be great for controlling temps and will probably have trouble with load. Only one way to find out

needs more mass and holes....mmm holes....doughnut holes actually.

but really, with such little mass/holes like gappo said load holding is gonna be an issue with a pot of that size. make the base a little thicker with holes in it and I would think you should be OK.

nice job so far!

Tapping those holes must have been a b.....

What size round bar did you mill it out of?
Where did you get the copper tubing?
Got a CAD ?
I would love to run some fluid simulations on that

Pretty sure he didn't mill/drill that centre piece - he said it was from the stock xeon heatsink?

Very creative! As the others have said, mass is going to be your main issue. Give it a try and check how it holds load!
