6970 Folding

Thread Starter
Hello everyone,

I have been trying to get folding@home to run on my 2 new 6970s which are in crossfire. I have followed the guide on the web site for setting up for multi gpus. Creating the two folders in the local app data and having two icons with one pointing at the original with -gpu 0 and the other pointing at the second folder with -gpu 1. neither would run because of not having supported drivers or something like that. So i added -forcegpu_r800 to both. they now start but can not seem to do anything other than look for files. I am using the gpu2 client. Any ideas?

Could you post your log, please?
I really wouldn't run F@h on your video cards until the GPU3 client comes out for it (Q1 2011).

Is your firewall blocking the client?
It's also possible the assignment server is down for maintenance (I've had this happen recently).

thats possible, but I'd check for any pre existing work units, then delete those and open up the client again, so it starts fresh. That fixed my gpu client a few days back

Agreed. I have seen this issued posted someone in this section.

Dual core ATI cards unfortunately can only use one core per card. Dual core Nvidia cards are not limited in that manner.

It appears I have found a solution to the problem and it is an odd one. I switched from the gpu2 client to the gpu3 for nvidia and it works fine. I think I had to do that with my 5870 as well.
