can you say no to a developer who goes above and beyond for their game. Well past the prime of the game, they take the time to record way more dialogue, add tons of new animations to the game.

Its pretty much unheard of in a game that isnt an MMO.

lol, I think timing attacks and chaining combos is great to have in a game. As for the sound, well, I can't say much about it, didn't bother me

I was surprised when I read that you can get the enhanced edition upgrade for a normal witcher. Nice to see they supported the game as well, will be looking forward to the Witcher 2 when it comes out

The Witcher: better story. Dragon Age: a bit better graphics and gameplay.

Both are good, but I prefer The Witcher. Preordered TW2 (got a deal for $35 I couldn't pass up), and I can't wait. DA2 will most likely be bargain bin before I get it though. I want to play as an elf.

Hi All,
Have both, played both, like the Witcher better. More player influence on outcomes.

The Witcher: terrible. Leftclick-the-screen-until-everything-is-dead is not an interesting gameplay mechanic. At least Diablo had real specialization and class roles. They should have just cut out all the tedious left-clicking and made a choose your own path book.

Dragon Age: a real RPG with some very nice tactical complexity. Reminded me of the gold box games.

Dagon Age would still be fun to play without the skinner box, Witcher is nothing but the box.

Isn't every game left click on the screen until everything is dead?

I am pretty sure right click doesn't do all that much in most video games.

I voted dragon age but haven't played the witcher since it came out so I had to enjoy the buggy version

thefreeaccount, I generally hate repetitive-clicking RPGs like Torchlight, but I found The Witcher okay because it kind of expects you to keep a rhythm to your attacks for them to connect successfully, and also decide the type of sword and style of combat to use.
I'm not voting though, because I haven't bothered with DA.

if you put the witcher on hard, you will not get very far in the game simply left clicking on everything.

On hard you get raped pretty easily so you have to use the potions you create quite often and even in mundane fights. You also lose the visual mark telling you when to strike, so you have to figure out the timing for yourself. I personally suggest it on hard. It turns the game into a tactical wonder. Knowing who to stun so you fight less people at a time, swapping styles on the fly. Way more fun on hard.

The Witcher is simply more an adult and mature game where your decision isn't black or white unlike other RPGs. The Witcher setting is not like from some Disney movies where leprechaun poops gold bricks and knights ride on unicorns. It's a dark, brutal, dirty medieval world filled with disease, crime and corruption. There is no good or bad only different shade of grey. The Witcher probably has one of the best story and this game is pretty underrated and its a hidden gem.
