both are great, witcher might seem deeper and got some great choices, and got a follow up game which seem like the goty 2011, and you'll be able to import witcher 1 save into it
dragon age feels more like a tv series, story is more basic, but all other elements are great starting from having many companions that do feel alive, up to some other cool stuff

however, dragon age starts up with nice pace and catchy cutscenes, while witcher starts up a little poor but keeps getting better every act

i say get both if you can

Knowing who to stun so you fight less people at a time, swapping styles on the fly. Way more fun on hard.
True indeed. I loved switching between the different styles and using a combination of spells to try to get through a battle especially when the odds are stacked against you. Not sure about the marker though, I think you still got some orange line or so.

The Witcher probably has one of the best story and this game is pretty underrated and its a hidden gem.
Main reasons I liked it, you get a feel for the world of the witcher through the actions of everyone and how others are treated(dwarfs, elves, etc....). The graphics aren't that bad either even though it came out sometime ago, a must buy if you like RPGs. Just make sure to use moderation otherwise you'll end up playing it for ~5 hours a day like I was because you're curious to explore and see how the story develops XD

I voted for the witcher, I have played both and couldnt get past playing da for more than 15 mins. I have beat the witcher, and since got the patch for the enhanced edition. I started playing it again, and have racked up 20hrs over two days. The witcher for sure if u want something truly epic.

The story, gameplay, game mechanics, graphics, immersion destroys dragon age.

That being said I <3 both games, but I'll take the witcher anyday.

Neck and neck now. I prefer DA:O, but you can't go wrong either way. Both awesome games. I played Dragon Age for hours longer than the witcher, which I played for about 30, on one play through.

I've put about 45 hours in Dragon Age, and 5-10 in The Witcher. In my opinion, DA wins because of the gameplay being superior, according to me, but it's close.

I prefer The Witcher Enhanced Edition over DA:O. There is much more variety and such a good story in TW. I never really got into the hype of DA:O, it is overrated in my opinion. Coming from a jRPG background on console, TW just seems much more of what im used to...and what i like.

I have both games, and I have to say that the Witcher kept me interested longer. The Witcher was actually great, but I have sworn off CD Projekt because of the game. Not because it sucked, far from it. Because when the Witcher Enhanced was released, it was supposed to be a free download for all current basic Witcher owners. To install it you needed a serial key from that version. Well, turns out they printed a large number of manuals that omitted the serial. I contacted them in every way possible to get a key, and they never replied. So I stopped playing. But it was an excellent game, much more intriguing story and voice acting. Less cheesy, and more mature than Dragon Age IMO. I really couldn't get over the bad graphics and cheese in DA:O enough to play more than a couple hours.
