Did I just waste my money on my SSD? [PICS]

Thread Starter
I bought a OCZ Vertex 2 60GB yesterday for use on my other computer. It uses a 790FX-M2RS mobo. I used SSD teaker but these are the speeds I seem to be stuck with on a clean install.

I notice it is in PCIIDE mode instead of AHCI mode, but I can't seem to find an option in my bios to switch to AHCI mode in my bios.

Is there any other way I can switch to AHCI mode?

Mine doesn't have AHCI mode in BIOS either. I'm fairly sure there's a Windows driver to do it for you though. I don't have a SSD, so I honestly don't know for sure.

I tried enabling AHCI in regedit by changing something from 3 to 0, but it did not help.

Run ATTO benchmark. AS SSD is always gonna give crappy results on a sandforce drive.

If you have no ahci in bios your board may not support it. I have an asus G41 intel board that does not have it. But the chipset supports it.

Running the benchmark with all the settings on stock right now. Thanks!

Pretty sure I recently read you need to set the AHCI mode before you load the OS. Although if you don't have it in bios....not sure how you handle this problem.
