jam3s: can you shoot for 3.4GHz? 3.6GHz just might be too high for this particular Q6600.

Same thing happens when I try 3.4GHz, I set 1.52v in bios and it reads 1.48v idle and under load it oscillates from 1.48 all the way down to 1.36v

It's the board, i'm positive.

Yeah, I'd normally agree but I'm postive it's the board, it's not the PSU, and it's not anything else, it's gotta be the board.

UD3P's overclock like champs so when I get it I'll be at 3.6GHz for sure.

I remember when I had my q66 it was a power hungry mother but I did run it at 3.6 with roughly vcore 1.55 or more for a year and a half and sold it for cheap with my old striker and ram and he still runs it at that speed, which it has been a year. I think if it not like over 1.6 vcore with staying in the right max temps it should be fine. Before I got it to 3.6 though I did have it at 3.4 for ages until I got my 3 way sli 88gtx's. I would as some has suggest to creep up to 3.6 instead of go straight upto it as you probably willl learn more about your rig and have more fun or tears that comes with it.

When it oscillates, when does it happen? How frequently? Is it during LinX/IBT? If so, then for how long does it stay at 1.36V? Is LLC enabled or disabled? Does this happen in Prime95?

Yeah, I actually am looking for an answer to each question.
