Would this be considered stable?

Thread Starter
Hello all, I've been running everything in my i7 rig at stock settings for the past couple of weeks, but today I finally attempted to overclock some things. The first was my CPU, but I'm not worried about that. What I'd like to know is.. is the GTX 460 stable and safe at these clocks?

*noob alert* haha

Keep in mind, I've never done any overclocking before.. so any help / suggestions is appreciated

thanks

Play a game like BFBC2 for a couple of hours. If nothing happens, your good!

I don't know if you have Crysis, but theres a benchmark for it you can download, and it lets you loop it which makes stability testing easy. From what I've down, running stuff like Evga OC scanner will only tell if you have done stupid OC'ing (like bumping up the core a ton with no volts), because a lot of the time you'll pass it but games will crash. So the best way to test your OC is to Fold, or do the very painful task of playing games

Thats another thing.. from the day I joined OCN it took me 2 weeks to figure out what folding was O__O. I know what it is now, but I have no idea how to go about doing it. Like I said, big noob here I'll play some painful games in the meantime

I second this! Folding is a great way to test stability haha

I also recommend that you drop Precision and use Afterburner instead. Same guy created both programs, but Afterburner has a lot more options whereas Precision is pretty basic.

I have mine at 1720core 2160mem SLI 3dmark06 10run stable with no glitches. Although my temps don't exceed 42c. I would run the evga performance monitor and check the heavy mode box. Watch your temps and check for glitches
