Aren't they like 20 bucks each? That would be one expensive WASD cluster.

The tri-colored ones are, and they are out of stock anyways. The plain reds are out of stock also. Besides, wouldn't laying your finger on a skull feel a bit weird?

I went out and bought a blackwidow ultimate yesterday, since my happiness with the U9BL is decreasing by the day, and im actually not sure im crazy about the blackwidow as a replacement to the u9bl

besides the wrist rest missing, the glossy finish really really kinda turns me off

and im having a hard time typing on the blackwidow..its almost like the keys are closer together or something to make room for the macro keys? like, for example, I keep hitting caps lock when i think i am hitting the a key...

so im on the fence..xarmor said i can return the u9bl to them (less 15% restocking fee since im outside 30 days) or i can return the blackwidow since i bought it at bestbuy and keep the xarmor

not really sure what to do....i dont care about nkey rollover

the thing that turns me off about the u9bl is that sporadically the keyboard goes completely dead and then turns back on a second later (i can hear the windows noise when you reconnect a usb peripheral) and then its fine

I'd say just return the Black Widow and get an RMA replacement of the u9bl. I'm not a big razer fan after having some issues with them so I'm a bit bias.

yup, thats what i just did....xarmor is sending me a replacement

cant really explain it, but after using both the u9bl and the blackwidow, the xarmor just feels like a better board to me, for typing and feel

i will say this though, even though they are both cherry mx blue boards, the xarmor is noticeably louder than the blackwidow

Hey guys, just found something that you guys might be interested in with regards to the new U9BL boards, I was browsing Ione's website and found this

http://www.ione.com.tw/2011/3_3P_gam.html

Notice how it says only 4 levels of illumination as mentioned in the information in teh first post. And if you look at the bigger picture,

http://www.ione.com.tw/2011/products...photo/U9BL.png

Notice how the right windows key is replaced with an Fn key which again agrees with the info in the first post.

Now these could be rendered pictures, but I really doubt it to the quality of the images that have been provided. I've sent them an email about this and hopefully will get a good response from them.

iOne is XArmor's OEM, they offer a stock design which XArmor is allowed to modify and tweak to an extent, and if XArmor lets them iOne can feed those modifications back into their own models, or even manufacture and sell those models on their own. There's various laws and rules of etiquette involved when doing these things, I don't understand, plus the exact business relationship between XArmor, Qtronix, and iOne is kinda murky. Just gotta wait and see what's up.

Ione technology is the parent. Sold under Ione, Qumax, Scorpius and Xarmor brand names in the USA.

Good move given the Scorpius M10 soldering problems they were having. Also why Phillip Morris is now Altria.
