can I SLI those?

Thread Starter
Hey guys

Will I be able to SLI my current GPU (Gigabyte GTX 275 896MB) with the Super Overclock version? (Gigabyte GTX 275 Super OC 1792MB) my main concern is the amount of memory. Will the double memory not allow me to SLI it with my non-super-OC card?
The SC card will only use 896mb memory to match the Gigabyte GTX 275 896MB card,
Not unless nvidia has changed how it runs since the 8xx series. (I used to run different memory amounts on my 8800's and it would just show the lower amount of the two cards.)
I'm on ATI hardware atm so maybe a Nvidia fanboy can correct me if im wrong.

You can SLI them. The cards will run at the lower clock speed by default and the Super OC will match the lower VRAM total of the stock card. Not really a big deal as the SLI should give you a good performance boost.

Then is there any reason to get this? I mean, I can get the non-SC card for less..

You can only use the memory from 1x GPU, so make sure the better memory is on the master card

but yes, it's the same thing.

Good Luck with the possible SLI upgrade.
Hope you see a nice fps bounce.

Lets say I put the SC as my primary card and the non-SC as the secondary, does it mean the SC will use it's 1792MB of memory and then non-sc will use it's 896MB or both will use 896MB?

I do get a big FPS boost, I tested SLI with my friend's BFG GTX 275 and was supposed to buy it off him, but then his father compared it to BRAND-NEW GIGABYTE , ASUS AND EVGA CARDS (FROM THE STORES!!!) and since they cost like $300 my friend expects me to pay the same for his BFG. Isn't that lame?
