If it was stolen....Why did he sell it for $60??

The point of stealing something like that is to make $$$ (unless his HDD had valuable information).

Criminals are dumb. Why the hell else would a $1k PC get sold for $60. Nothing else makes sense IMO unless the person was delusional
Also, the PC has a PW on it, implying it wasn't planning on being traded, IE: wasn't wiped

Yes because he was planning for his psu to go bad. Hard to remove a pw on a rig that won't power on.

Well for the update the guy emailed me the password and I logged in and it was basically a WOW PC. Tons of porn in the browsing history but that's it. Quite a few games on it and a not yet installed C5E Photoshop install folder which I want to try to migrate to my main rig. I'm going to attempt to move as many of the games as I can. WOW this and WOW that mostly but also a steam account and Sid Meyer's Civilization in the DVD drive along with a dozen games installed on the desktop. I wish I knew more about it I'd pillage this thing for all it's worth before I wipe it.

I don't know anything about WOW but if there's anything WOW that anyone wants me to look for filewise let me know.

LOL

Well, see if you can harness that license for C5E/CS5 and the games

Could you do a motherboard swap and run a mATX board in it? The case looks pretty cool, would be a sweet thing to do, sell it and make some profit if you didn't want to keep it around

Airflow doesn't look too awfully great. That could be fixed with some simple modding

Yeah I think I'm going to sell it. The mobo would be an easy swap and it has some very cool features on the existing case but I just don't need it. I've been poking around on it for the day and there's really nothing interesting on it. I made stock win7 recovery disks and am probably going to wipe it tonight since I'm not into WOW or any of the games on it. The guy was a total dufus though. One pic of his girlfriend that I'm sure she wouldn't want spread around, All his passwords for email, etc. were stored and I could really get involved in his life if I wanted to. Luckily for him I believe Karma is a ***** so I'll pass on all that. Gonna get rid of this thing but it was a hell of a score. I could do for a few more of these.
Specs aren't bad. processor and memory are 7.5, gaming graphics are 6.5, HDD is 5.9, and desktop performance for Aero is 7.1.

Vantage it scored @stock settings: 19261 CPU and 9618 GPU. Not bad.

CPU-Z says it's running at 3.2ghz

Edit: when I wiped the drive and updated everything the win index score went up to 5.9 due to the hd speed.

I have similar system with same case and you would be surprised how good airflow is due to location of case intake at the bottom of the front. i have a GTX470 instead of the 5770 that came with it and temps at 75c at 65% fan voltage 1.050 clocks 800/1600/1800 so it's decent airflow. The only upgrades I made where psu and gpu now hitting 5250 3D Mark11 same as stock 570. The i7-860 scores 5 in cinebench 11.5 only half a point behind i7-950.
