GTX 570 Furmark Temperatures

Thread Starter
I got my GTX 570 for christmas smile.gif. I thought i might test the card to see how hot it gets in furmark and was quite impressed when comparing the temps to the gtx 480.

I tested for 5:00mins and left everything on stock. The max temperature was reached in about 1 and a half minutes and stayed the same for the remainder of the test. The fan also stayed moderately quiet at 65%. (quieter than my HD 5770s)

Max temp: 86c

Merry Christmas everyone!!!! ^.^

GTX 500 cards have OCP built in that triggers whenever you run furmark/oc scanner/kombuster or anything like it which limits the amount of power delivered to the card when running these programs!

It wouldn't hurt to turn the fan up to 70-80% or so, it's pretty quiet compared to other cards smile.gif

I also just got this card, and have been putting it through it's paces. Ran the Futuremark benches, and played some Fallout NV and Assassin's Creed II. Even at 900/2000 1.1v 70% fan, the temp only got to the low 70s C. However, when I ran Crysis, I played for 30 minutes and it ran the game beautifully (1920 x 1080, 4x AA, high settings), but when I happened to glance at the temp, it was 97 C! eek.gif Funny thing was, the game continued to run like a charm.

According to Nvidia, 97 C is the max temperature. Should I be alarmed if the temps get into the 90s?

@OP interesting, was alarmed when my 570 reached 83C at 60-65% fan. Having the fan at 70% reduced temps down to 73C approximately smile.gif

^^Good question, not sure. I would higher the fan to 70-75% or so, that should help with temps and crysis is loud enough as is tongue.gif

Interested, thats around the same temperature of a 480. It seems as though the newer cards cheat stress tests in a way with the OCP. The cooler seems to be a lot better but the architecture seems to really not have changed drastically. Still they're very similar and Idk why some members crap all over the 400 series while praising the 500 series considering they're very close.

Well, it's funny because the problem hasn't repeated. It stays very cool other wise. I played Crysis again last night for an hour and the temp never got past the low 70's, though this time I bumped the fan speed up a bit.
