Need some imput on Home Theater speakers

Thread Starter
I have a fairly old system and don't plan on replacing the receiver. http://usa.yamaha.com/products/audio..._u/?mode=model. I am using bookshelf speakers fronts.http://usa.yamaha.com/products/audio...38/?mode=model.Sub.http://usa.yamaha.com/products/audio..._u/?mode=model. center is comparable to these don't want to pull it down to get model #. The rears are old I can't even find the specs on Yamaha site. http://cgi.ebay.com/Yamaha-NS-10t-Sp...41438555663891.

Overall I'm happy with the sound I could probably do some tweaking around with the system to make them better. When I look at even the cheap HT box systems they just seem to sound better. Could be because they aren't in a room and you don't get the real sound. Just wondering you're thought on replacing the speakers with these for $99.00. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-82115288-L05D.

I may do a whole upgrade in a couple of years but this is all I want to spend now.

if your happy with the speakers you have then keep them. the newer ones are ok but not perfect sound from a reciver that is out putting the sound. like small spk out putting large sound that only fit large spk.

There's only so much those little speakers can do. Put together a real HT. Get yourself a set of bookshelf speaks, a matching center, sub. Not much low end in the rear so use a pair of those cubes you have for that. That would sound awesome.

A better sub like this when the funds permit
