EKwb on Feser One

Thread Starter
Apparantly Feser One [voids warranties??] at EKwb too. According to them "Feser One is known as most aggressive water coolant." I've been waiting for a response to the last message for a couple days now and the other responses were sent within the hour. So I am assuming I'm being ignored and my response is to post this here.

Here's a transcript.

I ordered 2 GTX 470 White Acetal tops recently and I am installing them now. Here is an image I was hoping you could take a look at.

1. The material's decay was caused by Feser One for 2 months. How is that possible?! I've been cleaning it for a while now too, one of the blocks I was able to basically restore to where I'm happy, but the other is just looking awful. Any suggestions as to cleaning it or what I could do differently in the future to avoid this type of situation?

2. You see in the block on the right, in the center screw hole there is supposed to be an o-ring like the other GPU but there isn't. I can't find a similar one anywhere around my house.

Thanks alot Eddy, I'm looking forward to getting the blocks back on, and as always thanks for providing great customer service!

----------

I m sorry to see this, but we cant take any responsibility for chemicals and its effect in/on water loop. Blocks are plated with thin nickel layer. I dont know how to clean this. Maybe with some special polish. I suggest you use distiled water and silver coil as its best for water cooling.
Oring is needed as to prevent a leak. Size of oring is 15x1,5

----------

From what I read last week you won't warranty blocks that have been used in a loop with pt-nuke. I haven't heard ANYTHING about Feser One. Please direct me to the part of your warranty that absolves you of having "any responsibility for chemicals and its effect in/on water loop". I'd love to see the reaction on this. Further, let me show you just how thin your nickel plating has become. Keep in mind that these blocks are less than 6 months old

----------

The PT nuke problem is only the reservoir tube made of extruded acrylic material. But we cant be sure on that as we are yet investigating it. Feser One is known as most aggressive water coolant. But you need to understand that we cannot test all the coolants on the market. I have shown the pictures of the problem to our company that nickel plates our products. They said this could only be made by some pretty strong acid fluid. That will not hurt performance in any way nor making leak potential. Do you need o-rings for theThe o-ring we can send you in envelope, you probably will not find it anywhere localy. On the picture the block seems to be intensively cleaned.
What detergent did you use?

----------
First, I used boiling water. Then I tried ketchup. Ketchup sat on block only about 2 minutes, before being removed with distilled water. I was able to source an O-Ring from an old shower head. Seems to be working but I'll let you know if I need it. Was the last guy I talked to the same guy from XS "I don't see what the big deal is?" He needs work on his PR skills. Anyway, you guys never prohibited Feser One as far as I know, and even the Clunk "water cooling guide for beginners" that EK sponsored uses it.

Also since I replaced the tops with the white acetal ones I bought off your site my warranty is void anyway, isn't it? I doubt I'll need it on a product that has no moving parts but still, hard to believe that you guys would not cover a warranty because of Feser One, the most widely used premix coolant available.

----------
Since you replaced the top warranty was void only for leaking. The rest is still on: manufacturing and material. I doubt the feser is the most used coolant, but really, cannot RMA you the block because of using so aggressive water coolant. Nickel is very durable, and I think something else went wrong in your case to get such result. I am curious, did you use brand new radiator or was it before used or flushed?

----------
Rad was brand new. Just FYI I wasn't asking for an RMA. But what does this sentence mean? "I doubt the feser is the most used coolant, but really, cannot RMA you the block because of using so aggressive water coolant."

Wow those are some shocking results just goes to show how thin the plateing is on the blocks to clean then up could you not use Brasso to give them a nice ****e and cut throught the grime ?

But the one youve cleaned up looks to have cleaned up well if it was in anysort of state as the one you havnt cleaned up

Looks a lot like galvanic corrosion. Are you sure you don't have any aluminum or steel in your loop?
