So, of course if you knew this to be the case, and avoided purchases that weren't on the 24 hour sale, you wouldn't understand.
So you would rather if they NEVER do these daily sales, just because you made the mistake of buying early once?

You already said, you don't get it. I don't expect you to get where I'm coming from.

But to give you the benefit of the doubt, I'll try to explain.

No where did I say that I don't like the sales, nor have I claimed not to benefit from it. If you wouldn't mind giving me and others the respect of simply reading not only the opening post, but following posts and you will find yourself clearly enlightened of where I'm coming from.

Quite simply put....

I'm an unaware noob who made a noob mistake. Had I known things that are on sale, would also be put up for further sale.....I wouldn't have made this noob mistake. I'm not blaming anyone. I'm not expecting the system to change on my behalf.

But I do question and dislike Steams tactic. It's set up to profit from those who are not aware of how these sales work. It rewards those who knowingly wait in the truest sense at the cost of those who don't. Instead of putting things that they know will go on the 24 hour sale on regular price until it's up for the 24 hour price drop, they make money off those who don't know or can't wait for that day with the allure of a daily sale.

Granted, this is true for things that are on regular price only to go on sale the next day. But the fact of the matter is, me being a noob...assumed that because the game is currently on sale during this Christmas event.....this was the best it was going to get when the planned all along to put it up for the 24 hour event.

Like I said, no worries. Just a frustrated Steam customer and OC member who has been enlightened.

I swear if Batman Arkham Asylum GOTY goes on sale tomorrow I will be pissed Hate wasting money... But even if it does go on sale. It's worth the $15 I spent I wish steam was like newegg. Newegg actually refunds you the difference if there is a sale. <3 newegg support. steam support = once you buy its done. Unless you know people ...

So rewarding people for being patient or a regular customer is bad?

This. If you don't know how the system works, you can get stung, but if you follow this advice, you'll be golden.

I think your being a little unfair here. A few things

1) It quite plainly explains that there are new deals each day. Since pretty much every big name game and many smaller names are at least somewhat discounted, it's pretty easy to guess that the daily sales have to come from somewhere, and that is what is already on sale. They also say quite plainly that all deals (except the daily deals) last till January 2nd.

2. If they put things that were going to be a daily deal up for the regular price, you'd have a very good idea of what the daily deals were going to be for a lot of the bigger name games.

I don't think there is any tactic here to get people to buy non daily deals before they become daily deals. It happens, a lot of people get burned at least once. Instead of saying it is a way to get more money than they would with the daily deal, just learn that you need to wait for the daily deals.

I think it's unfair but then I want to thank Steam for delivering 3/4 of my game library for a fraction of the price of brick and mortar stores

Your right...I can't argue with you. It definately is a lesson learned. I mean this isn't the first time I've been "burned" on steam. But as I said, thought games that were already on sale meant this was the best it was going to be. Ah well. Won't be a next time to happen like this during a Christmas sale. But, definitely won't be the last time to be "burned" by steam random sales.

You're also seeing a half empty glass.

How about seeing it as leaving it on sale for people who miss the sale day?
