Best method of overclocking (Multiplier, FSB, or both?) - Page 2

So last night I bumped it up to the following specs:

CPU: 3808mhz (238x16) 1.37v
CPU-NB: 2618mhz (238x11) 1.20v
RAM: 1586.8mhz (238x3x2) 1.65v cl 7-8-7-24
HT Link: 1904.1mhz

Temps were running around 56-57c under load this morning so I decided it was time to try reapplying thermal grease.

I reapplied my thermal grease to cpu using the credit card method and the two grains of rice-sized dots. I also added a 40mm fan over the NB heatsink.

Now my temps at 3.8ghz cpu and 2614mhz cpu-nb are 49c max under load!

Very good, but I think you reached to the max point of your CPU since its a C2 revision, unless you going on extreme cooling (i.e. water, dice, etc).

Good luck!

I'll match your challenge and raise you 30mhz! Currently testing these new settings...

CPU: 3840mhz (240x16)
Vcore: 1.38v
CPU-NB: 2640mhz (240x11)
CPU-NB Voltage: 1.20v
HT Link: 1920mhz
RAM: 1600mhz, cl 7-8-7-24

Temps: 34c idle, 49c load

15min in prime95 so far no errors. I'm going to let it run another 10min and then attempt to break 3.9ghz.

It failed about 8 minutes after my last post, lol.

I bumped the vcore to 1.4v and the cpu-nb voltage to 1.25v. It seems to be helping as I am 30 min in the blender with no crashes or errors.

Average load temp 52c, max so far is 55c.

when I prime, i leave it on overnight. Most of the time, it fails after 7-9 hours. I consider that unstable...

mine seems to like multi more.. it's more stable at 200x21 vs 240x17.5

Have 955c3 and trying to get the most speed least voltage.I have been at 4.0 at Multi X20 forever now with 1.525-4.125 at 1.55 both stable with Prime both multi and Max temp. Also OCCT for a high data set for 2 hrs.
Im on a modified H70 now and load temps never get close to 50c,

Here is the..( at least me looking at me ) stupid part i want to start over and reel it all the way back down and mix multi with fsb and see if i can use less voltage and obtain more speed.

Any thoughts..?
