Colder water means a bigger delta means better heat transfer, so yeah, it will yield better temps.

i'm not confusing it. I simply stated that until the water reaches equilibrium it will yield better temps. My statement is completely true. If you have a 5 gallon bucket of water it will yield better temps longer from system start up than that of a 500ml res since the water takes much longer to reach equilibrium temp.

imo you can't classify the few minutes it takes that extra water to heat up as better temps. it's the same temps you'd see with a smaller amount of water in less time. sure, i get amazing temps when i turn on my computer for the first time each day, but it's not worth noting seeing how the water will be heated by time you really start to do anything.

Well, it is better temps. If you were to plug your system directly to your tap water and and then let it drain directly, you'd get awesome temps.

Correct. Not sure why that is debated. He is saying it will cool better for a few minutes and then provide no benefit over a smaller amount of fluid.

There are a few ways to improve your WC loop. Here are a few:

1) Add more rads
2) Improve air flow through rads (high speed fans typically)
3) Better water blocks
4) Move the rads to a cooler environment
5) And the best improvement, lower the ambient temp in the room
