post #1 of 8
Thread Starter
Hi,
Just built a new system for my mate and i can't seem to get it to work;

Asus M4A87TD/USB3
AMD Phenom II 1075T
Corsair XMS3 DDR3 1333MHz 9-9-9-24
(Old) Nvidia 8600GT 512MB
Coolermaster 430
EZ-Cool 650W PSU

i have a hard drive with windows 7 pre installed 64bit which i gave him.

Bust for some reason every time i try to boot windows i get a BSOD at exactly the same point during the boot process evry time, on the loading screen where it says starting windows.

Have tryed using just one DIMM of RAM and also downing the RAM clocks to 800MHz, there is nothjing wrong with the windows instalation becasue it does it with his old HDD with win XP on at exactly the same point.

Please Help/ + Rep for anyone who can help.

also when i boot on post it says "no device driver detected" continues the post and BSOD's

i dont get any beep error coded either it does all as normal with one beep.

Usually you'll get beeps if there is bad ram. I think maybe it's your drivers. Check to see if you got it set to raid, or ACHI in bios. If your original windows install did not have these drivers loaded on it, it won't work. Id look at the bios and make sure it's not set that way.Switch to IDE mode and see if that works.
Either way, if you get it going, you'll have to reactivate windows. Might be better as the other poster suggested, reinstall windows.

If it was on an Intel or older pc windows 7 can not adapted to the drives on the new PC. So the only choice you have is reinstall windows.

What Karmuhh meant was that he/she agreed with Dixon on Re-installing Windows to help solve your problem.
