MSI AMD driver issue with fan setting not working properly - fix

This thread is for the MSI owners having issues with AMD's driver fan control.

Though AMD 10.12 drivers work they don't do well for fan control. Without Afterburner I had temps of 80C even hit 85C with AMD's driver settings and fan never went above 35%.

I'm running Afterburner software from MSI and tweaked the manual user defined settings to match http://event.msi.com/vga/afterburner/01.htm.

I'm running my MSI AMD 6870 Twin Frozr II at 940 core clock speed and 1250Mhz memory clock specs. Hitting 30.1 Gpixel/s pixel filtrate and 160.0 GB/s bandwidth matching that of stock AMD 6950 specs.

Crysis maxed setting never got above 61C at fan speed 60%.

I did tweak a bit and lowered the lower temps of the fan speed to run at about 25% until temps hit 35C and then matched that of the site. It really dosen't need high fan speeds at lower temps like suggested. Everything is working great now.

You can find the main page at MSI here.

Hopefully this helps anyone with this issue that comes to this area looking for a solution. Take care everyone.

Forgot to add make sure in "General Settings" you have the "Start with Windows" checked or when you reboot it won't be running. Check "Start Minimized" option if you'd like it out of your way.
