Anyone tried the new AF-S 55-300?

I can get it for like $300 with my employee discount. I was originally going to save up for the Sigma 70-200 2.8, but at $950 with taxes and shipping, it's a little too much for me.

Think this would be a good lens to find out what focal lengths I use?

I haven't really found any good review on it yet.. :S

Are your flickr photos all taken with the 18-55mm? Looks very good.
I have the 55-200mm and I have to say 200mm isn't enough at times.

300 at 5.6 will lead to less DOF than you would think. Just buy a used Sigma for crying out loud, it will be guaranteed to have good focus.

How much would the 70-300 VR run you with your discount?
