MBR or GPT format?

Thread Starter
hi

I just installed a WD20EARS drive (2TB) and this drive supports advanced format.

I want to partition this HD and now windows asks me to format it in MBR (master boot record) or GPT (GUID partition table) which option should I pick?

Thanks in advance

You can't boot a GUID drive.

this is why windows creates a system partition... i assure you can install windows to a GPT partition and it will work.

gpt has better data reliability as it's harder to corrupt...
