Just rearranged my desk and decided to hook my 360 up to my computer monitor rather than my TV (thru HDMI). Anyways, was just wondering what you all thought was the best setup. Personally, I like number 1 (because I get my 2nd monitor), but I was wondering if you all thought that it might have a better chance of RRODing that way? (with the monitor sitting on top) I've still got a year left in the warranty, just don't want any long lasting effects from the monitor sitting on top (it's not terribly heavy either). If number 1 doesn't seem like a good idea, would you think 2 or 3 would be better? (horizontal or vertical)

Thanks!

Weston

EDIT: Sorry if the pics show up HUGE. Took them on my phone and forgot to resize

I liek option 3 primarily because i think it looks "Cleaner" but if you could fine a nicer arrangement Option 1 should be good.

I'd go with one
as long as it isn't blocking any of the ventilation and the base of the monitor doesn't heat up then I'd see no problems
post #4 of 11
vertical for best ventilation.. You dont want RROD ...
Vertical is the worst ventilation... Can you not see that most of the vents are on the side (Bottom when vertical, where they get no air.)

I would choose option 1, the monitor will have no ill effects on the xbox, the board and components are protected by the hard plastic case and a metal cage on the inside, and I've seen people with much heavier loads on top of theirs for longer periods of time with no RROD.

sorry its been a while since i had a 360 ( 3 years )
I use vertical with no issues. Its on a hard surface so air gets in there fine.. I wouldnt do it on a soft surface tho (even if it was stable).

In your case, I'd go with 1. Seems to be the best use of space.

option 3 is my vote.

Hello I've read on various sites that keeping your 360 in vertical position increases the chance of your disks getting scratched, and esp. if you have a hard drive blocks the airflow from the sides.
I think horizontal is better, and you put 4 rubber caps on the sides of your 360 for it to get elevated.. Most 360's I see are like that.
