In that post vFSB=1.20V is what you could try for 4GHz and work your OC from there..

I said in that 2nd post vFSB= 1.40V is max recomended for 24/7 usage..

So those were max recommended voltages for 45nm Intel CPU..

Try to actually read the posts..

CHEERS..

Vcore=1.45V
PLL=1.60V
vFSB=1.40
vNB=1.40V
vSB=1.20V

CHEERS..

Hey King,

new to OC'ing (got another thread over here ) but i had a really strange issue and wondering if the auto settings were an issue.

E8500
P5Q Pro

Ratio: 9
FSB: 420
CPUv: 1.3000
i had left everything else auto... but kept getting an error on prime after about an hour.
So as told by another member, i set my vFSB, vNB, and 2 ram settings. all hell broke loose lol. the MB could not recover properly from the OC, and after a few boots and the bios clearing all settings on its own... it dicieded not to post. so i had to reset the CMOS. now i am starting from scratch again.

I am just looking to hit a stable 3.8 (or a little less) just squeeze a little boost from the cpu - cant go too high since i dont have the best cooler (better than stock.. but not awesome)

any recommendations for settings would be appreciated! thanks!
post #70 of 70
Even worse. Something is really wrong. Bios is not remembering any settings, its all default every boot, and every app I start in windows crashes! I am posting from my phone. Help!

EDIT
After 8 boots... chrome worked long enough to get a new Bios file... updated, rebooted, and its SEEMS ok at the moment
What should i do to test if everytjhing is ok?
