6850 vs 6870

Thread Starter
I will be getting new graphic card next week so I am thinking should I purchased 6850 or 6870 gpu.

is there going to be big difference in performance
between this two cards? because I found good deal on 6850 buying it from my friend for cheap price. this gpu will be use for gaming and watching mainly and my resolution is 1080p.

If you can buy the 6870, do it.

Some said that you can overclock your 6850 to reach performance close to 6870.
The 6870 is around 35% more ex than the 6850 while its performance is higher by a smaller amount.
If you are on a tight budget and not a hardcore gamer that wants very high settings, go for 6850.
If you can afford the price of 6870, get it.

The problem with the 6870 is that it's 33% more cost for 7% more performance. So if you can find a boxing week sale for a 6870 for like $209 then go for it, otherwise if you're comparing apples to apples the HD 6850 is a much better deal. CF them and you've got the best bang for buck on the market

Depends on how good that deal from your friend is. The 6800 and 6900 are really good cards. They are absolutely insane in crossfire!

Is there a big difference between 6850 and 6870? Huge difference...no. Measurable and noticable difference.....yes!

As mentioned above, 6850 in Xfire is hands down the baddest bang for buck! $350 to $370 for both 6850s and it will own a GTX580 at $500.
