Took the plunge(GTX570)

Thread Starter
Title says it all. Been wanting to upgrade my gpu for a while now. Went for a GTX570 and an Antec Earthwatts 650W psu since my current psu probably can't handle it. I do realize that my cpu atm will bottleneck the GTX570 but I'm going to oc it back up to 3Ghz once I clean it out so that temps are back to how they used to be. Interested to see the large difference in fps in games that are gpu dependent(crysis, etc....), should be exciting

3.2GHz should be a fine setting for that Q6600. Using 8x400FSB. At 3.2GHz I think you will be fine with that GTX 570 GTX 570 is a mile faster than your 8800GTS

I'll try, last time I tried maybe to 3.2Ghz back when I built my rig (3years ago ), temps were pretty high at 100%, 65C or so I think. Considering it's winter here, I might be able to take advantage of that and oc high again

I'll definitely try to oc back up again to as high as possible. It's the darn temps that are holding me back, possibly my psu although checking HWMonitor, the rails are all within good range
