65C is not too high for that Q6600 under 100% Load I'd begin to worry a little more when you pass 75C at 100% Load. But if that was using LinX even 75C would be fine. Remember programs like LinX heats up your CPU far beyond what any application or game does.

oh, I'll be benchmarking before and afterwards to laugh at the difference, but, I'll mark your words

65C should be ok (can't remember what was safe for C2Q? 65nm) what cpu cooler are you using? as stated above getting some free megahurtz outta your cpu will definitely help!
Thanks, the thing is, I have no clue if my Q6600 is B3 or G0. I think, not 100% positive though, that back when I built my rig 3 years ago, I read something like B3 on the actual cpu but cpuz said G0 and I've been confused since then XD I tried intel's cpu software, whatever its called, but, can't recall what it said. Either way, I think its 65C for B3 and 70C for G0, so, getting temps at 65C is somewhat worrisome, even though it'll just put itself off

Yeah, Crysis gets playable with AA and high settings. I run Crysis Warhead benchmark, Ambush level at an Average of around 40 FPS using Enthusiast setting and 4xAA at 1920x1200. This is with my GTX 570 overclocked to 850/1700/2000.

lol, ironically enough, I used to have a CRT around this time last year and played crysis till the boss level @ VH no AA @ 1280x1024 at around 25-30fps. Wasn't that bad actually especially with motion blue, however, with 1080p, I doubt I can pull that off again XD I'll be looking to turn up AA this time around Don't worry, I already took care of my jaw, hooray for tape XD

I think last run I did, I got around 73C or so with running 2 instances of orthos and my computer might've shut off but that was a long time back Ready for round 2 You are indeed correct though, other games won't stress as much or even close, but, either way, I like to know that I'm safe if such a game strolls by

That's awesome actually. I'll likely see higher fps with only 2xAA and 1080p since that's what my monitor supports. Of course, that'll be after I oc my Q6600
