It's not necessary to buy new fans in the first place. The h50 is a great recommendation, especially for a mid sized case. But I hate how the instant response to a new h50 purchase is to buy new fans for it. Contrary to popular belief, the included fan does a perfectly fine job.

Wait till you see how well the h50 performs before you go drop more money on new fans. The stock fan is not as bad as most people claim. I think it's just the nature of this forum that most us can't possibly believe that a stock product could actually be halfway decent. In fact, if you search around the h50/h70 thread, lots of people (including myself) would tell you that "better" fans made no difference. My GT-AP15 maybe improved temps by 1C.

My h50 keeps my Q9550 at 65 or below on Intel Burn Test at maximum load - those temps are pretty decent. The point is that if it keeps your CPU cool enough, then there's no point in blowing more money on fans. And if it doesn't, then you probably need an entirely different cooling solution in the first place.

That particular case is 8.1 inches wide, and width is the key to accommodating air coolers. OP, you can fit any standard full tower heatsink. No need to settle for an H50. At your price point you can get a Frio or a Mugen 2 ($40 shipped) - both are equivalent at cooling, according to reviews.

Thread Starter
I chose the h50 because full heatsinks are a pain to screw in and tighten up lol.

Uhmm... I wasn't talking bout the H50/H70. Im aware of the fact the better fans won't exactly improve their performance.

I was referring to the OP buying a heatsink that don't come with fans, so I suggested he buy the Frio/V6GT if he doesn't wanna buy fans.
