I don't like it.

It bugs me that I was paying for a game where the less I played, the more interesting (having new skills, etc) it was each time I logged on. I played for many months but finally just stopped because, apart from wealth, there is zero incentive to play... There are so many other (better) ways they could have designed it. It could be something as simple as while using X ability, you train X ability faster.

Eve is one of the very few high quality mmos out there. Its a very indepth game which has so much to do in it. You can go explore wormholes to seek great riches at the high risk of getting killed and even lost, you can earn money throug sly means waiting in busy systems to raid people with valuable cargo, you can harvest planets and moons.... the list is endles. Unfortunately many people start playing eve thinking its just like any other game, hence they end up just doing mission after mission endlessly
The great thing about the skill system mechanics is it allows the player to do things ingame for fun and not for the sake of "oh let me just farm these mobs for an hour and then i'll be level 156! ".

I'd recommend anyone to play the game and if you have done before try it again and do things that don't involve missioning or mining. Join a wormhole corp or go into pirating. Theuniverse is your oyster.

PS If anyone wants a 21 day buddy trial for eve pm me : )

But their skill system, market sim, consequence based pvp, that all makes eve... well EVE! what you're asking for is masseffectoblivionfallouteve.... and well, thats just not EVE...
the time based training and moutain of skills is probably the main reasons why this isnt at least a 1mil sub mmo imo....but hey its what they wanted.

Thank God for EvE.

THey've been talking a couple years about direct control of your avatar and implementing actual interations on stations and the surface of planets....I think this development confirms that.

Walking in stations is coming out soon so it might actually be useful.

It doesn't need to be a 1mil sub game.

No other game comes close to providing the depth of politics Eve has.

Eh, Eve was boring to me but if I get a trial thing I'll give it another try.

I believe the number of accounts has been increasing steadily...

Best thing is to get on comms: vent/ts3 with buddies who have played and ask questions, keep asking until they boot you for being so annoying b/c the learning curve in EVE is very steep..
