[PG] Eve Online at “Bleeding edge of what you can do today” - Page 6

The new avatar system is something that really is dynamic. I cannot think of another MMO to date that has implemented such a complete system for creating your character. Now a lot of you really don't want to look beyond the "Walking Through Stations" functions, but this is the base groundwork of something more.

The stations part of it all is going to make things a lot more interested for a lot of people, and they're going to be offering quite a lot with this, and all without charging more for it. From here on out, the developers have been working for more than 2 years to make this happen, and its going to be more than just a shopping mall.

Now the game itself has been evolving over time, and I remember when they started to implement newer technologies and gave us more to do than just mining, building, and PvP. EVE has proven itself to be different from your conventional MMO, and yes, the skill system was one of those factors.

I know that a lot of people haven't really warmed up to the idea that they can't get a skill immediately and that time has to go into it, but for the fact that your training is still ongoing even if you aren't logged in is fantastic. Yes, there are skills that can take over a month to get, but that's up to a level 5 rating at best, and most of the times have gone down since they got rid of the learning skills(and gave us a load of points to redistribute to boot).

Now is the start of something new, and the game is going to continue to grow exponentially in the coming year. So if you don't want to pay monthly for an MMO(which gets really cheap if you do it in several month increments), then you can have fun playing FF14...

...Am I the only one who thinks that all the male characters created look like butch women?

It's smoke and mirrors, and utterly pointless. If this is the only thing that'll bring anyone back, don't bother. And that's from someone that's been playing for over 6 years.

Oh...shiny..

Yes, until they get round to implementing WIS (walking in stations), then there'll be endless minutes of stuff to look at/do.

Man, I wish I didn't have to pay for this game monthly. If only there were a scaled down version for those of us who don't play MMOs....

Considering it failed, I can't either.

Fly,
jump,jump,jump,jump,jump,jump,jump,pew pew pew,jump,jump,jump,jump,jump,shoot rocks,jump,jump,jump,jump,

It's real cutting edge stuff.
Give me a break.
Shillers never stop shilling.
Pretty much this. I threw EVE aside after a month of play. The game is just an enormous IDLE timesink. When warping.. warping.. warping... warping... warping.. 30 minutes later I finally arive at my destionation. Another 30 minutes later I'm back and repeat/rinse.

The thing that EvE players seem to tout is the PvP oriented community gameplay. Well guess what: Being a community PvP oriented game is not exclusive to EvE. There are plenty of games that put you right into the community PvP action contrary to just wasting time and never seeing any action.
