microcenter 64gb how is mine doing?

Thread Starter
Im not sure if this ssd is running right but boot times and shutdown times is very fast and programs start up very fast, But it seems like its not doing too well on tests.

And why does it say 96% health in ssdlife? Shouldn't it be 100%?

But ya heres the benchmark.

By gordesky1 at 2010-12-25

Right now its running on the purple setas connectors on my motherboard in AHCI mode.

I tried it on the yellow ports which is with my raid 0 drives and it seems like it gain some performance in benchmarks but not much, But it wasn't on AHCI mode because that controller is in raid mode.

Tried that and there was not much difference, And no ssd programs wont detect the ssd when on the yellows like ssdlife.

Hmm i might disconnect my raid drives and have just the ssd on it with AHCI and see what i get i post the results when i do which in couple min.

This is on the yellow ports alone i have my other drives disconnected.

That test is really bad... I also tried AHCI and it still was low but not that low as that test.

It seems like the purple gives better performance for some reason.

And heres one on the yellow ports with ahci enable

By null at 2010-12-25

As you can see some reason the yellow ports ain't performing as it should be.. Maybe thats why my raid 0 drives never perform as good as others.. But im not sure why causing it.

Heres one more after i just updated the chipset and seta controller

By null at 2010-12-25

The seq read is better but all others are still low.

I just saw about Alignment which sometimes helps with the performance , And im wondering maybe thats what mine needs?

As you can see from the pics its at 1024k which is windows 7 default and the drive came already format out of the box.

I also see 103424k in people screenshots.

I also did a bench mark with cdm3 and seems too do better with that.

[/URL]

I wonder if lower it under 1024k will i get more performance or should i just leave it be at 1024k?

Im not sure i looked on adata site which what the micro center 64gb is and cant find any info too update a firmware.

It just seems like this ssd ain't performing as great as others, Maybe its the board im using or something ain't setup right, but i tried the 2 seta controllers and ahci and other options and still not getting performance as others.

Also updated the controller driver which help little but not much.

Everything loads fast and programs start really fast tho.

Hmm maybe sandforce drives ain't that great with 790 chipsets sense it seems like all the high scores is from intel systems...

Other than that im not sure what causing the slow performance in these benchmarks...

By the way is this normal that hdtune showing this error? and is it normal for ssdlife showing 96% heath? It said that when i first put it in too.
