Hows this build?

I was thinking of ordering this in the next 4 days or so, I was planning on buying as many used parts here on ocn as possible to save some cash.

My main concern is the new processors that are coming out. I know its just speculation but when those new processors and motherboards come out, do you guys think the the prices will drop on the current 1156 socket stuff? I'm kinda worried about buying now only to see all the prices drop in two weeks.

Heres what I was thinking of buying, tell me what you think (my limit is about $800, I already have a high end power supply, a case, and some large hard drives). I use my pc for encoding video, editing hd video, flac music, editing pictures, and gaming.

My previous pc was: Q9550 C1 @ 3.8Ghz 24/7, 4Gb ddr2 1066, GTX275. So I think the pc above would be a noticeable improvement .

1156 stuff is going to drop when Sandy Bridge is released.

Also look in the online deals section. There's an Asus GTX 470 for 222 dollars PLUS a 30 dollar MIR

Ive been trying to figure out if I should wait it out for two weeks and then buy, or just buy now. To me it doesn't look likely that I will buy an 1155 cpu and motherboard, due to the pricing that I have seen so far (although its still probably a bit early to tell). But I wonder if the price drop on the 1156 stuff would even be worth waiting two weeks, or if it would end up only saving me like 30 dollars on the processor and motherboard. Which then to me would not be worth the wait.

Ooo thanks

Yea, wait till sandy bridge at least for the price drops and if not that the platform as a whole, I would bet that you could get a nice 1155 system for 800 not including the stuff that your already have

Sandy Bridge build will be around the same amount of money you want to pay for a 760/ROG board

Solid components in the lsit. Don't think their price will drop that much when Sandy Bridge is out but why not get Sandy Bridge if price is about the same.

Hmm, yeah it probably would be best to go with that one since its a whole new socket to replace 1156, and it would probably be a bad idea to buy into an old socket rite when its about to be replaced.

I was looking at the pricing and the cpu's seem to be priced pretty well (2500k for only a little more than the 760) but I am a bit more worried about the prices on the 1155 motherboards. I guess if they do end up being a bit more expensive I could always skip buying the ssd and just pick one up some other time, that would save me $135. And I still gotta find a heatsink for the cpu, or 1155/56 mounting kit for my 775 socket TRUE, so I guess I probably should skip the ssd for now.
