First OC any good?

Thread Starter
Hi i got the following setup:

i7 920
Asus p6t deluxe v2
6 GB OCZ gold plated 1.65v @ 1600mhz

OC settings:
http://tinypic.com/r/2be58j/7
http://tinypic.com/r/53w6yv/7

DRAM voltage now is 1.64V instead of 1.60 on the pic.

4009 MHz stable.
Changed my timings from 9-9-9-24 2T to 8-8-8-24 1T.

Any suggestions or things i should watch? Can i go any further? I tried 7-7-7-24 but Prime95 crashes.

Nu de Prime95 test.
Heat up Phase 100%:
http://tinypic.com/r/2vnq6bt/7

Cooldown prime
http://tinypic.com/r/2akkef/7

Final Prime95.
http://tinypic.com/r/2e5o2rq/7

LinX test begin:
http://tinypic.com/r/25rnwyb/7

final Linx:
http://tinypic.com/r/r02e6e/7

Any recommendations?

i would reccomend to run Linx with around 4gb memory at least, it would take a while but will prove that there is stability.
same goes for prime95, it would take hours to show the stability of the cpu, but the settings look like it will be a good overclock

EdIT: try around 20runs of Linx with 90% of memory available
at least 6 hours of blend
and to be sure 6 hours of small ffts

Looks really good to me-

Further things you might look at disabling are some of the other power saving / throttling features... C1E, Virtualization tech, TM function, Execute Disable bit... Also spread spectrum both CPU and PCIE disabled are supposed to help with the higher bclock.

Also, I can't tell if you've adjusted amplitude, enabled load line calibration... also might consider locking in your Uncore and qpi...

But hey- you're stable so far... that's a major victory. All of the above is just fine tuning- you've got it working and as the saying goes: If it ain't broken, don't keep fixing it until it is!

As you start torturing it- there are many, many things you can more finely tune but let's cross that bridge when we come to it!

Did a 3 hour Linx test. 4096 memory used and no errors, guess i am allright
post #7 of 13
Well if you can do a LinX test with All Memory used and leave it overnight as it WILL take a long time if it passes that then you're FULLY STABLE

yep the shows Linx stability, in order to be fully stable i would suggest getting prime95 and run at least 6hours of blend test, if you get that, never worry for instability

I got another question, Linx shows when i press at memory ALL max 4300MB that i can use. But i have 6GB memory. I tried some other settings and my Windows suddenly said i only had 4GB memory in stead of 6GB (Linx showed me 2300MB max when i press ALL memory).

Now: I have 6GB memory in Windows again but Linx still says 4GB.

So 4GB in Linx is good? Linx can't use all 6GB? Kinda logical because there is always some memory in use so he cant use full 6GB.

You're Right so Do the Test and if it passes then you're very stable but remember do it overnight as it WILL take a LONG TIME
