First: How many cores does it have? How many Virtual cores does it have? (Example core i7 has 4 cores and 4 threads Which equals 8 virtual threads.)

Seconded: What Motherboards Are out for it? Well the motherboards be released before the cpu?

Third: What Ram will it use?

Fourth:Well this be a wise upgrade from a core i7 950 ((POLL))

Any of the 6 core i7's are going to be faster then anything from SB.

They will be the fastest intel cpu's until Ivy Bridge comes out.

Switching from any i7 cpu to Sandy bridge is a waste of money IMO.

Ivy Bridge cpus will be a real upgrade.

after sandybridge, Near the end of 2011, they will release Ivy bridge. This will replace the current dual cores, And also be a new line of computer enthisiast/high end chips.

IMO Sandybridge, Is more of a sidegrade from 1366.

We don't have benchmarks on it yet. Odds are your 950 overclocked will perform similar if not better than a 2600K I'd hazard a guess at this point. But that is a guess, and it depends on what you are doing.

It depends on what you are doing.

For example leaked benchmarks indicate an i 875K is just as fast at file compression as a 2600K. But in other tests, the 2600K beats the 875K sometimes by small and sometimes massive margins.

Odds are IMHO, SB will not be much faster than your 950 if at all. SB will use less electricity, and run cooler though-that much is certain.
