New PC

Thread Starter
Im no good when it comes to making a custom computer so for my first computer i will be buying a pre built computer. My range is is around 300-400 Pounds. I have been looking around ebay and found some computers which i would say are good deals but like i say im no expert.

This is the computer im looking at, at the moment.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ADVENT-CBE1401...#ht_1786wt_932

I will be using the computer for gaming, i want to be able to play newish games without any problem. In the future i will be looking to upgrade the components of the computer.

Is this computer good enough for gaming, can all of the components be upgraded easily enough.

Thanks in Advance ~Ben

nice computer overall, what I don't like is the 700 SB of the motherboard not letting you unlock extra cpu cores

well the computer is fine it haves 4gb of ram, i bet you can upgrade it later.

the motherboard of that pc have a 780g chipset which usually comes with South Bridge-700. this south bridge doesn't let you unlock CPU cores on the bios as far as I know. Theres a foxconn motherboard with 780g chipset(northbridge) with a 750 south bridge on which you can try the unlocking. For gaming, 3 cores+ are recommended.

And by the looks the motherboard that i linked you here doesn't look like the one on that PC (comparing pics).

Yeah, for the CPU intensive games, but you can still game well on this pc, you can find reviews of this cpu gameplay with an ati hd 5750/5770 on youtube, if you like it then decision is up to you.

i seen that on ebay it is a quad core but no dedicated gpu... you could by the pc and then use the rest of your budget to get a gpu

Hey thanks for the reply. Its a nice looking computer but as i would like a gaming computer im also thinking about the look, It might seem stupid but i want my computer to look like a gaming rig.

I just found this. Leaves me 100-125 for upgrades if needed. What do you think?
