Hello all,

I am looking at upgrading my video from my 4870x2 to either a 6870 x 2 or to 6950 x2. Now I know people will say go to Nvidia but I would rather stay with ATI as I prefer them and hey if we all bought the same thing life would be really boring

I will be water cooling both cards so I am not worried about temps or sound. So what would you be buying if $$$ were not a concern and you were looking at the best upgrade? I do game at 1920x1200 so I have been leaning towards the 6870 xfire but the performance of the 6950 xfire looks so great.

So let me have it guys and thanks in advance for your recommendations.

Of course if you have no issues financially with the upgrade you go with the best option available, in the 6950x2 from what you listed. The 68xx cards scale incredibly well and are great options but you get much more performance from the more powerful base cards with the 69xx option.

6950's if AMD.
They give 570's a run for thier money in gaming performance.
In you go big single, the 6970 is a decent option as well.

If you're looking for a real upgrade from what you already have on the AMD side, then that's easy: the 6950's hands down. Once you go high end dual GPU's you can never go back.

Ya it is hard to pull the trigger to go back to a mid range setup after having the high end for the last 2 years ( or it was high end till the 5 series came out )

I am going to go over the whole build once I can get the full cover block for the cards from EK. Hopefully will be done in the new year.
