Here is a guide to help you, but to warn you it could brick your psp. I bricked my old Phat psp (1000) but i got a pandora battery to fix it. Good Luck to you

As far as I know, 6.35(6.35 is literally the LATEST firmware from Sony) is too high up on Official Firmware to allow a flash to custom. Bummer :/ The number one rule for PSP's is; DO NOT UPGRADE YOUR FIRMWARE! Haha...

Ah man that sucks :/ You're stuck with that firmware until there is a way to downgrade it.

A pandora battery won't work with that firmware man. :O You can't execute the memory stick since the official firmware won't allow it.

I think the pandoras battery method has nothing to do with the firmware you are using. What matters more is weather or not it has the TA-088v3 motherboard or not. Some of the later 2000's have this board which makes it impossible (currently) to perminatly install cfw. Most 2000's dont have this, but if you have the box for it you can check.

You can flash CFW. You need a pandora's battery to put it into service/recovery mode then just create a pandora's memory stick with he required CFW and your good to go. This works regardless of your current firmware.
You could only software hack with firmware 5.03 or lower.
I know with the Fat you could make a battery by removing a solder point and If i recall you can make one for the slim by trace cutting and restore the battery by pencil/Solder.

GIYF. Good luck.
