I realize this isn't exactly my scene, but and I got curious and was wondering exactly how does this work exactly on their end?

Local Field Partners find the individuals that are in need of assistance and vouch for them to get their request for a loan posted on the Kiva website?

Yeah, you can donate at any time. I'm not sure how long we will keep matching Kiva loans but should be at least through the end of the month.
