Had 2 PNY GTX 465 (flashed to 470) die this week

I had 2 (TWO!) PNY GTX 465s flashed 470s die this week. The secondary 470 died about two weeks ago while still under water. It just refused to work one day. (However after I moved all components to a tech bench and dismantled the loops so that I could assess the problem, I was able to get it to boot ONE time! After that it again refused to boot.

Today I was playing CODBLOPS and after I beat one particularly hard part on veteran just as i was about to get a checkpoint, my system shuts off, and after that the primary 470 was gone.

Since the flash allowed the GPU to use an extra 256MB of onboard RAM or 96 CUDA cores that didn't pass in binning, they might have been a ticking time bomb once unlocked. It also could be my PSU. I had a problem sleeving it because of these things:
img2156pn.jpg
img2157jf.jpg
I moved them inside the PSU so that I could single sleeve the cables. I know they were there to reduce ripple, which was quite bad on my PSU according to GURU3D's review. I might need to buy an oscilloscope to measure power ripple.

I had to mess with the void warranty if removed sticker to install my waterblocks. Anyone know if there's a way to insure that my RMA gets accepted, or have any advice for dealing with PNY's RMA department?

The other problem is that the more recent PNY GTX465s were unflashable to 470s. So that part of the problem really sucks.

I have 2 x Black PNY 465 unlocked to 470 with a nvidia ref bios and now evga bios. I had both flashed sometime over the summer and never had an issue.

Did you try using a different PSU as the above poster have asked?

Not a few gaming sessions, they both ran fine for 6 months. Then one after the other they went poof. I have a BFG EX1000W on hand. Perhaps I'll sleeve that one and let the other one die in a grease fire or something.

I did, but only after I began having problems. Again, no progress. And I believe I was using the EVGA bios.

Do you guys think that it's possible that this is all because of voltage spikes? I had further problems when I started using my 9800gt. So I plugged the PSU into my UPS surge protection port (does that have AVR, or just the port that has UPS?) and haven't had issues since. Knock on wood...
