Stay away from mech's tbh.

Dont be concerned with them They suck for gaming. and are much outdated.
Are you serious? I'll agree with one thing, they aren't especially good for gaming, but they are not especially bad. I LOVE my mechanical keyboard, an old IBM M13 that I wouldn't give up for anything.

It may be "old tech", but its the best tech. Basically they worked on making keyboards better and better, when they were perfected they then worked on making them cheaper and cheaper. The rubber dome stuff they have now, well, they work but that is about the best thing one can say for them.

Typing is SOOO much better on a clicky mechanical keyboard. You WILL type faster and more accurately.

Quality is also much better with mechanical key switches lasting up to three times longer than rubber dome.

Some people think they are better for gaming but I personally haven't found them to necessarily better for gaming.

Anyway, if I could give Yoko Littner a negative rep for his ignorant comment I would. don't believe that guy.

Actually most professional gamers prefer mechanical keyboards.

Yoko is making non-mechanical board owners look bad

I for one don't like mechanical keyboards. Are they bad? No. Are they great? Personal opinion.

My G15 did great until the media buttons started to mess up, but I use them a LOT when in game. Switched to the G19 and love it even more, even tho so many bash it. I use the LCD for CPU monitoring and the backlight is something I wanted so it was the best for ME.

Keyboards are all personal preference so both sides need to quit being asses about it.

But when it comes to keyboards, IN THE END it all comes down to PREFERENCE.

You've gotta try both.

Ive read the mech keyboard guide dozens of times, but I still got a regular "rubber dome" Logitech cuz I like the wireless features.
And I absolutely hate the clickiness of my dad's old keyboard from the 90s
Forgive me if I prefer lightweight and cheap over quality and durability.

Theres no real evidence to support that mechanical is better or worse for gaming than... whatever the opposite of mechanical is. -.-
I proudly game on a rubber dome and frankly I dont care how much better a PS/2 port is than good o'l USB.
I would agree with you. There's no need to attack others for difference of opinion. However Yok's obviously just trolling. He raves about his lycosa with scissor switches and says they have better tactile feedback [false], then states in other post that it doesn't have scissor switches to win another argument [inconsistency].

Another thing is when you say there's no real evidence to support mechanicals are better, it's more like you haven't done the actual research to know they are better for gaming. And yes, they are much better for gaming.

There's a huge difference between your post and his post of "its old tech so it must be bad" followed by incorrect "facts" to back up his statement and some obvious trolling posts.

That may well be, I was talking about my own personal experience. I am not the only one, although maybe if I tried a different switch I would have a different opinion.

Anyway, do have any proof that most competitive gamers use mech keyboards? Because I was under the impression they didn't.
