ASUS Rampage III Extreme mobo not turning on - Page 3

I had a funny issue with my gigabyte x58a-ud5.. it would turn on for a second and shut off. and keep doing this and im sure other motherboards may handle this differently but I could not figure out what it was so I took the cooler off and cpu out and looked closely with a magnifying glass to find one pin bent over sideways and touching another

If the problems keep happening absolutely RMA it. I'd actually suggest getting in touch with Asus's server support department (phone option when calling in) because they are usually more intelligent and helpful than the desktop mobo guys. They can handle the RMA still. If you tell them it's been professionally looked at and request the board be marked for exchange or swap they will probably do that for you. I had a p5n-t deluxe that had similary bizarre problems like this and Asus was too lazy to replicate them (why I mentioned request exchange). It took them 4 times to the RMA dept before they told me that they could just label it to be exchanged.

They only need the board itself and request you keep all accessories. No original box needed.

if needed: Asus 1-510-739-3777

edit: ps, did you recently reconnect the usb? It seems like the wires are in backwards and it is grounding out the +5v. Usually it does a mini power on like in your video.

I don't mean to necro this topic...

But I later found out that there are very BIG problems with the front panel of Haf 932's and that I had to get a new panel with new wiring to fix the issue.
