Urgent Mobo Upgrade!

Thread Starter
Hey guys; looking to update my motherboard, as it doesn't support xfire and it is capping the OC on my chip. I was thinking:

1. GIGABYTE GA-890FXA-UD5; with
2. 5850's x2

Any recommendations or comments on my current choices? Figued that a few more opinions couldn't hurt; incl. anyone who may have a similar setup and experience with the 955 cpu and gig 890fx mobo.

Hi.

That is a solid setup, but I'd go with a single GPU and maybe a new CPU. The C2 isn't a good overclocker CPU (I had one).

I would save myself some money and get 2x6850's. Single they are less power than a 5850 but their crossfire scaling is better than the 5000 series.

can also recomend the Asus M4A89TD Pro/USB3.

good options...

that Asus looks like a winner, mostly because of the optimal spacing b/t the two PCI x16 slots.

As far as GPU, I have some extra cash flow coming in. Therefore, I figure I'll go with a 6970. Can always CF it in the future if need be. How is the scaling on these, btw? I've read mixed reviews, probably because the card is still new.
