It probably won't, but I would like to test and see just fur curiosity sake. And SSD will blow a HDD out of the water, especially in 4k speeds.
Ahh!

Thank you mate!

I think I will go with the Vertex, but might as well check both

Yes when installing the OS (I used AHCI in bios on an AMD chipset mobo) at the point when you install your drivers, do not install the sata drivers for the AMD sata controller. Instead let windows 7 identify and install the inbuilt drivers for this (that work with TRIM), eg. "SSD + ACHI Mode + Windows 7 Driver = TRIM" in the link I posted

I've just deleted 3 large files from my Vertex2 and trim started working right after. TRIM working ok for me.

Hope this helps OP.

How do I know if trim works after deleting a file, it pops-up a window saying it? or?

Thanks mate, really appreciated, I just hope I do it right!

you need to watch the HDD (SSD ) activity light.

If it stays on solidly for a few seconds after you delete a large file, then TRIM is working

Or run this in CMD:

fsutil behavior set DisableDeleteNotify 0

Just get a C300 or one of the Sandforce drives with the updated controller. I like my current Sandforce drive.

that will tell you that the command is sent to your SSD to tell it to TRIM; the only way to tell if it obeys that command is to watch for solid activity after deleting a file
