i5 750 difference in core temps.

Thread Starter
Hi everyone,

I just installed a Cooler Master Hyper 212+ HSF in son number two's computer, and I have a question about the core temps.

It seems core 0 and 2 are always higher than core 1 and 3

The image below shows the difference even though it is not the temps I had right after the HSF install, it was nearly 10°c difference on core 0 and 2 and core 1 and 3, and it has dropped some since (the screen cap).

Is it normal to have a big difference in core temps?

If I remember correctly this is when the heat spreader on the CPU is not even.

The solution to this might be lapping it.

Same thing for me to. It's most likely due to the heat spreader on the CPU being uneven. I wouldn't worry about it though since my load temps are still the same lol.

Yeah up to 5 degrees difference is normal.Anything more can usually be remedied by re seating the cpu,but I wouldn't bother in your situation. It looks like 1/2 your cpu isn't mating up as well, either because of the tim or an uneven surface.

Ahh, I'll have to check the X bracket with a ruler instead of eyeballing it.
