i juse put a line of paste through the cpu. then use a business card to apply a thin even coat around the entire chip. thats whats recomened by arctic cooling for the silver 5. i recomend everyone use that method

I don't as it has been proven that method is prone to bubbles and an uneven application.

Just throw some on and let the heatsink spread it.Next question?

well my heatsink is an heat pipe direct touch. its not even. letting that base do the job wont make me feel right

Reading this brings back all of those memories of folks applying wayyyyy too much paste. I can't tell you how many times I've removed heatsinks to find huge gobs of the stuff everywhere. It's almost like they applied it by the spoonful!
