I have that monitor and I think you got a lemon, mine has none of the problems you listed and is really gorgeous.

In fact I have another on route and magic tune works great.

I might have solution for sluggish menu interface.

Unplug the Cord from the POWER brick only then reattached the Cord to power brick opposite way. see if this solve your problem.
