I'm saying you can't just download a game and play it on steam (well, I know a few but still).

Easy. Don't buy your games on Steam. It really is that simple. You're not going to change the fundamental rules of free enterprise. Kid.

Look, the reason more and more developers sell their games on Steam is because it allows them to make profits. They're not stupid. All the game developers who never put any thought whatsoever into protecting their games from piracy go out of business real fast, or lack competitive game making budgets for future titles. The market NECESSITATES steam. Kid.

It's self righteous people like you who think that because they paid $50 they OWN the game itself. Its not a car man. Its MEDIA. The law is different as to ownership rights. And I don't know what your understanding is about copyright law, but you dont really legally own that game. You own the rights to play that game. Whether you like the law or not, it is what it is. Kid.

Its what allow game companies to make multimillion dollar budget games for you to enjoy. Steam is a large reason for that. Blizzard shareholders are literally sitting on mountains of cocaine and money but they still put DRM into their products. Why? Because its how they got there in the first place. Sure Stardock lets everybody steal their games but they will never be able to output high budget games like Bioware, Infinity Ward and Blizzard. Ever. Its the way the world works. Kid.

I love steam, especially thier holiday sales. Honestly they have the best method of combating piracy, I.E. by competing with it. Why pirate the game when it can be had for times at only a few dollars? I really think more delivery content systems should model themselves after steam.

Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!

Self righteous? What because I want to own something I pay money for? On your bike, kid. You might be happy getting shafted, i'm not. Showing your age with stupid comments. How old are you? 17?? Grow up. EULA, btw, isn't the law. The Law says you can resell games. This is why Valve are "considering" a trade system. THEY HAVE NO CHOICE.

Keep offending people with your erroneous opinions and insinuations, though. You're good at that.

Where you are buying a license for a piece of software (such as on Steam), you are buying a single user license. Thus, the retailer does not have to allow re-sales.

You should read up on the law before you quote it

This is so wrong. In my experience, physical copies of games are far more restrictive than the DRM steam has. With Steam, you can install it anywhere and still be able to access it as long as you can log in. Way better than some of the other DRM plans I've seen.
