Ok. I actually do own and operate a legit computer repair shop. www.computercrazyonline.com
. I had the Asus g51jx-3d for about 8 months, returned it 2 times. It was advertised to benchmark at over 10k with 3dmark06. I got 7k. Replacement laptop got 7500. Took the back plate off, and put arctic silver on the heat pipes. With back off, running the bastard on its side, I got 11k. Put the back on, put on the laptop cooler pad, 8500 pts. My 2 year old g50vt gets 9800pts. ***. Anyways, even at such a high point scale, assuming 8500 is decent, the laptop ran super hot, and ALL games eventually got choppy. Asus needs to mod the bios to allow better cpu fan scaling. Anyways, enough on that rant. I decided to go with the alienware after I got one in for repair. The customer had cracked the screen, but I was able to test drive it. It was the m11x r2, i5, 8gb ddr3, 1gb nvidia, and 500 gb 7200rpm drive. It actually got HIGHER frame rate on crysis 2, with the settings imported from my Asus. COULD NOT BELIEVE MY EYES. Asus statistically has a great record, they truly do. I think the 3d model was over hyped, and I think it was a bad buy (at 1600 bucks). When I do get my m11x, I will update. I hope this post does hope to clear some things up. Thanks guys.
