Asus P5N-D problems

Thread Starter
Ok so today I installed my ASUS P5N- board that I got for christmas. Everything booted up and posted with no problems, installed the drivers without issue. I also installed a brand new Corsair H50. I am in bios trying to OC my system. I noticed in the P5N club lots of guys were running multipliers of 8x and etc...How is this done? I am limited to 6, 7, or 7.5. I have tried 7.5 at 1400mhz fsb, but for some reason when I check in CPU-Z it is only running at 2.62 GHz.
The rated FSB is 1400.0MHz, and the Bus speed is 350.0mhz. When I right click on my computer to view computer info, it says 2.62 GHz. Anybody got any insight as to whats happening?

do you have speedstep enabled?if so disable it.
when looking at cpuz put a load on the cpu and it should run at full speed.

OMG. That board is terrible I used it for one day and took it back to Compusa because of instability issues even at stock I cant imagine using it with a quad let alone overclocking with it. Do yourself a favor and cut your losses and get a P45 or x48 board.

They will give you a store credit which you'll have to use to buy a new board through them. In my case I had to pay a 30 dollar difference.
